During this stage of life teens are experiencing Erik Erikson’s stage of Identity vs Role Confusion.
During adolescence the transition from childhood to adulthood is most important. Children are becoming more independent, and begin to look at the future in terms of career, relationships, families, housing, etc. The individual wants to belong to a society and fit in. Sometimes this is hard and teens need or desire a support group, peer, role model and/or confident. Counseling can help with this by offering support and guidance for many challenges teens are facing today! Figuring out how to navigate this world on our own can be very stressful, so why not have the ability to express concerns, fears and challenges teens face today.
