Stacy Hernandez, MA LPC MHSP

Stacy Hernandez is the owner and founder of Affinity Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in the Knoxville area, originally from Georgetown, Texas.

During her time in Knoxville she has had the pleasure of serving many diverse populations within the community. Stacy’s varied experiences gives her unique perspective when working with children, teens, and adults, with different cultures, ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. Her experiences included working for nonprofit organizations, including homeless shelters and women’s shelters. In addition to non profit, she was able to work with the grants department at The University of Tennessee researching couples, relationships and marriages.

Stacy views psychotherapy as an opportunity to maximize your mental health potential. She uses a variety of counseling techniques depending on the needs of the client, such as, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and AAIT (Acceptance and Integration Therapy). Stacy’s number one goal is to empower and guide her clients by helping them discover what is keeping them stuck or feeling discouraged. Stacy strongly believes life is so much easier to live when you have someone beside you, supporting you and offering encouragement.

A special note from Stacy:

This work is very important to me having faced many struggles and transitions in my own life. My ability to empathize and have compassion for my clients comes from a history of knowing what rough roads are like. It is important for me to provide a safe and confidential environment where pre-teens, adolescents and adults can discuss difficult times while growing and stepping into their next journey of life. I have been married to my husband for 21 years and we have 2 children, ages 15 and 18. Our extended family includes 3 dogs. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, travel and ride my scooter with my husband and watch movies. I look forward to working with you and can’t wait to me you!!
